Trauma-Informed Approach

In today’s media landscape, adopting trauma-informed approaches is essential for responsible reporting and storytelling. By prioritizing the emotional well-being of individuals affected by trauma, media professionals can foster more compassionate and understanding narratives. Implementing these strategies not only enhances the credibility of media outlets but also supports the healing process for those sharing their experiences and the relatability of followers with trauma histories.

Trauma-informed approaches go beyond trauma awareness and implement strategies that safeguard and protect disclosures, case integrity, and individual vulnerability. These approaches provide strategies that go beyond empathy and safeguard the most vulnerable in reporting.

Embracing trauma-informed practices is also a vital step toward creating a more empathetic and informed society.

A Note on Capacity

Media availability is evaluated alongside consulting and speaking commitments. Not every inquiry results in participation — fit, timing, and topic alignment all factor in. If a request isn’t the right fit, you’ll hear back promptly so you can pursue other sources.

For speaking engagements — keynotes, workshops, and conference presentations — see the Speaking page. Media appearances and speaking engagements are separate tracks with separate intake.

Media inquiries do not initiate client engagement. All consulting relationships begin through the Work With Me intake process. On-record participation is at Katie Leigh Advisory and Katie Leigh’s sole discretion.
